Baby’s first important check up will be at 6 weeks.
This can be done at a baby wellness clinic, doctor, paediatrician or midwife.
Remember to take baby’s road to health card with as all weight, immunisations and other notes about baby will be recorded in there.
You will be asked about baby’s feeding, sleeping patterns and any concerns you may have. Baby will be weighed and his head and length measured. These will also be compared against a growth chart.
Babysgeneral appearance, skin toneand texture, breathing, heart rate and stool pattern will also be noted.
This is also your opportunity to ask any questions. Don’t feel shy , no question is wrong and the first few weeks of parenting can often feel overwhelming.
Remember to take a change of nappy, clothing and feed with you .
